Reliance launches e-commerce platform JioMart across several cities

Reliance finally launched its JioMart e-commerce portal for various cities in India after running a pilot for limited PIN codes in Mumbai, a move that will change the current positioning of the online grocery delivery service in India, which is currently dominated by Bigbasket. and Grofers.

The service is live through Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Trivandrum and some Tier II cities as well. During the pilot, JioMart was working with a commercial WhatsApp account.

The JioMart website has listed essential grocery items as well as agricultural products. The fruits and vegetables will be obtained directly from the farmers who have collaborated with the brand. So technically, it would also compete with micro delivery platforms like Swiggy’s Suprdaily, BBDaily, and Milkbasket, and would also compete between companies like Ninjacart and Crofarm.

The platform covers everything related to groceries, consumer goods and consumer goods. It also has as an introductory offer a 5% discount in MRP for some products. With JioMart, Mukesh Ambani is thinking of disrupting the offline to online segment or O2O and is likely to hit headlines like Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Swiggy, Zomato, Cure.Fit, Meesho, and everyone else on the segment.
